Grapes including Kyoho grapes are widely grown in Ibaraki Prefecture. European grape varieties such as Rosario Bianco and Ibaraki's original grape brand, Hitachi Seiryu, are also available in the prefecture. Recently, bright green Shine Muscat grapes are becoming very popular because they are easy to eat. They are refreshingly sweet, have a strong fragrant flavor, and can be eaten with the skin on.
