RECOMMENDATION

Great with meals! Japanese yuzu scented Yuzu Japanese Black Tea.

One of Ibaraki Prefecture’s most famous teas is Sashima tea, which is made using a traditional hand-molding method.
Sashima-cha is made using a deep steaming method to produce a sweet and mellow taste.  This requires a longer steaming process which is the first step in making green tea.

The Sashima area in Western Ibaraki is a rare area in Japan where all aspects of tea production, including manufacturing and sales, are carried out by producers.Additionally, in 1859 Sashima-cha was the first Japanese tea exported overseas.

We would like to introduce Yuzu Japanese Black Tea from the Sashima Tea Producer Export Council.

Yuzu Japanese Black Tea comes in packs of ten 2g triangular tea bags.
Matsuda Seicha fermented Sashima-cha and added good quality yuzu from Kochi Prefecture to the black tea as a blend.
Matsuda Seicha uses a Black Arch Farming method (Matsuda Seicha’s cultivation method involving hanging a shade net over an arched pole for a long period of time in order to bring out the deliciousness and sweetness while subduing the bitterness) which results in tea leaves that are characteristically sweet.
By carefully fermenting the tea leaves, Japanese Black Tea was born.

We will show you how to make Yuzu Japanese Black Tea.

1. Put the teabag in a teapot or teacup.

2. Pour 100cc-150cc of boiling water (around 98-100 degrees) over the teabag.

3. Wait between 60-90 seconds then dip the tea bag up and down before removing.

4. 1 teabag provides between 1-2 drinks.

With its slightly sweet taste of black tea and its refreshing scent of yuzu, Yuzu Japanese Black Tea pairs exceedingly well with not just sweets like cookies and cakes, but between meals like western pasta dishes as well.

As of now, we only carry the kind that you pour hot water in, but in the future we are thinking about creating a new version that you put into water in order to strengthen the fragrance of yuzu.

Whether it is with snacks, or with a meal, how about trying our refreshingly fragrant Yuzu Japanese Black Tea?
