“An integrated manufacturing company specialized in sweet potatoes”

-Index-

We are interviewing enterprises/organizations that are actively working in foreign exports and are member of the Ibaraki Global Business Promotion Council about their products!
We have asked Mr. Takahashi Yuto, person in charge of exports at Potato Kaitsuka Co. Ltd. headquartered in Kasumigaura City of Ibaraki Prefecture, about his company’s export goods, “Frozen roasted sweet potatoes (Beni-Tenshi)” and “Frozen dried sweet potato (Beni-Tenshi)”.

Potato Kaitsuka’s Original Brand “Beni-Tenshi”

Potato Kaitsuka is an integrated manufacturing company that handles various types of sweet potatoes and sweet potato processed goods. The company is able to handle about 20,000 tons of sweet potatoes a year.

The company’s factory consists of 4 towers, the first is responsible for cleaning and sorting, the second is the freezer, the third is for making dried sweet potatoes and the fourth is for making baked sweet potatoes.

The sweet potatoes are grown with the help of contracted farmers at the company’s farming facility. We have sweet potato fields that are well drained with machines through soil analysis and planned fertilizations. Our biggest advantage is our “curing process” carried out in curing storages. Our “curing process” is designed to keep sweet potatoes in a storage for a long time under specific conditions of temperature and humidity. This process naturally cures the sweet potatoes of any damages incurred during their harvest or other occasions. Sweet potatoes that undergo this curing process become remarkably sweeter and are able to be stored for longer periods of time.
